If you feel lumps but your doctor can not, what are the chances an ultrasound will pick up on them? I am a very small lady, and when she pressed on my breast in the spots where I feel a lump I flinched.

Yes, an ultrasound might pick up on them. Have you had a mammogram? Sometimes an ultrasound will pick up what a mammogram misses. But at the same time mammograms and ultrasounds unfortunately do miss seeing lumps especially if you have dense breast tissue. If you feel lumps, get your dr to schedule an ultrasound. If it doesn't show anything....an MRI will pick up anything missed. Good luck to you!

My doctor didn't seemed to be all that concerned and I am starting to think it is nothing, just like she said.

You're very welcome. One thing I've learned from my experience is to pay attention to any changes in your body. If you feel something is not right...then get it checked out to your satisfaction even if it means getting a second opinion. It might be nothing but you never want to take that chance. I wished my tumor would have been detected so much sooner. It's our bodies and lives! Good luck and best wishes,

I encourage you to please go and have the ultrasound done. The lumps could very well be nothing more than fibrocystic calcifications but YOU need to be CERTAIN. Early detection is key

I know how scary it can be. I'm so glad that you're getting the ultrasound done. As Natasha said....early detection is key! And know that approx 80 of lumps end up being benign. But you ALWAYS want to get a lump checked out ASAP! Good luck and let...

Had it done! Wasn't anything like I thought. She measured something, but wouldn't say what. she spent the most time in one spot. I go soon to hear results...my nerves are getting to be shot. It will be nothing, it has to be!

I am trying my best to not even think about it. Not knowing and wondering is not going to do me any good! So I will just wait this out. This will be nothing.
thank you for keeping in touch...a prayer or three is always a good thing though... ;)

I agree with Donna. Never let A doc tell you it's nothing. Fight for the MRI.
