Learning About Breast Cancer
Yes, I had triple negative invasive ductal cancer 11 years ago and had a lumpectomy chemo and radiation. I recently was diagnosed with the same type of cancer in the other
breast. It is not a reoccurance but a new cancer. Each case is so different but if you are having any doubts about anything, get a second opinion. It really helps you make good decisions

Barbara,
I found out I am triple negative. I had no idea I just knew I had IDC cell grade 2 tumor 1.7 to 2cm so to my surprise when the Oncologist told me the rest of my path report at my consult I was shocked. I had already decided on a bi-lateral mastectomy but I was going to have reconstruction done at the same time, now I am not so sure. Any input? So sorry you are having to go through this again! Once is enough for anyone.

Hi Carla,
Remember I beat it years ago as have others - its just a little trickier. Do you know if your lymph nodes were involved? I would agree with the masectomy - wish I would have done it the first time around - I would still have great breasts at nearly 70 lol! Seriously, knowing what I know now, I would surely agree with your decision. I assume you will be doing chemo and radiation even with the surgery and just want you to know it wasn't all that bad.
