can I take Black Cohorsh extract after having Breast Cancer in 2007?

    Sonya, This is something you should discuss with your oncologist. I would be very concerned about any "natural" or prescription substance that might be considered in any way, hormonal. You don't have any idea what might trigger cells to mutate and possible set up a situation for developing breast cancer. You have had it once, and you probably want to do anything possible to never do that again! We just don't know what causes breast cancer. Take care, Sharon

    I asked my dr that same q. She told me it would be ok. I am reluctant though to take it. I have been taking vitamin e for the hot flashes. I don't really know if it is working or not. Some days I don't have many hot flashes other days it is awful. I'm on tamoxifen now.

      Cindy what other symptoms do u have with it. I'm going to start it in February and I'm just curious. I understand we are all different but want to know what u deal with?

    Cancer specialist at recent seminar said any estrogen influencing supplement like soy, black cohosh, and flaxseed are not recommended while on tamoxifen.
