Going through chemo currently (just got round 2 yesterday). Am I allowed to have a glass of wine or anything during this? I'm on Adriamycin/cytoxan.

My chemo nurse said not the night before or the day of otherwise yes eat and drink as normally as possible. We are beer nerds and love micro brews and we home brew beer. I had real taste problems so I didn't want anything to eat or drink. The day I had my head my head shaved because my hair was coming out in clumps I went straight to a double on the rocks.

Thank you Marianne! I'm hoping a drink might help stimulate my appetite. I don't have nausea as the meds I was given work well. But I do have a loss of appetite. Prior to this, a drink would always make me snacky. :)

I was told an occasional drink was fine. When I tried my usual fave, red wine, it tasted like battery acid. I was so pissed! Haha! So I pretty much gave up alcohol since I couldn't really tolerate it. But enjoy if you can!

As with Erin, after several months of not having s drink, I finally made myself a toasted almond and it tasted terrible. I just waited until chemo was done so I could enjoy my occasional drink

As far as I know it is fine to have a glass of wine or two. You should try and keep your life as normal as possible. Good luck
