I found out I had breast cancer in my right breast on Jan. 24th by a mammogram and biopsy. Feb 28th, I had a lumpectomy and was told it was stage 1a with no lymph involvement. I had to have another surgery March 15th to remove more margin. I did good with both surgeries. I started radiation on may first and had 16treatments. A week after my last one I started showing bad burns on my breast and under my arm. It split open and was very painful. It took a couple of weeks to heal. Today, 10/20/2012 I am cancer free. I had a mammogram on Sept. 13th ant it was all clear! I started Tamoxifen and took it two months but it was causing so many terrible hot flashes so my onc changed me to Arimidex. I am doing much better on it. My hubby lost his job three weeks after my dx which turned out to be a blessing because he was with me thru it all and even carried me to all of my radiation treatments which were 40 minutes away. It was a rough road but I have to praise God for carrying me. I couldn't have done it all without him.
