Hello, my name is Tawonna Anthony. I was diagnosed with stage 3A breast cancer on Monday, October 24, 2011. I am 31 years old with a 9 month old. I felt a lump back in July and called my OB/GYN. The nurse assumed it was a clogged milk duct because I had breast fed my son for 2 1/2 months. After doing the things she said to do to get rid of the clogged milk duct, and it didn't help, I got discouraged because I had no health insurance. I let another 3 weeks go by and finally was in so much pain, I went to urgent care! The urgent care doctor told to me to contact a breast surgeon ASAP! I was very lucky that it was Breast Cancer Awareness month because I was fortunate enough to get all the medical care I needed for free.
