I was diagnosed with DCIS March 2015. Had lumpectomy, clean margins. No radiation. Mammograms, ultra sound and MRI, every 6 months. Two tumors found 8/2016, biopsy done and invasive ductal cancer found in same breast. I had a bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction done 9/2016. Have not seen oncologist yet, appointment this week. My oncotype DX score is 9. Sentinel node was neg. No radiation needed, no Chemo needed. I know the Oncologist will recommend Hormone therapy, but I am resisting that. The side effects are something I don't want for 5 years, and with the breast tissue gone, and a low oncotype score I am willing to chance it. I am 66 years old and quality of life is important.
