My cancer was found during a routine mammogram. The diagnosis was DCIS and since it was very early detection, lumpectomy was recommended along with radiation. The pathology report showed signs of cancer on three of the margins, as well as a small spot of invasive cancer. I decided to have a mastectomy..I didn't want any more negative pathology reports. All of this happened in just several weeks time.

It's been one week since my mastectomy surgery. I'm not sure what to expect next but I'm anxious to get on with my life. I will beat this...cancer will not win.

Update - as of Jan 14, 2014 I am happy to say I am one year cancer free! I've had reconstruction surgery and will be on arimidex for 5 years.
