Went in for Mammogram on April 28th 2012 was called back for additional views as a line of microcalcifications seen, Had Stereotactic Biopsy on May 23 showed Stage 1 Grade 2 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma with Auxillary DCIS no lymph node involvement. Was scheduled for lumpectomy on June 27th with Sentinel Node Biopsy. Found two nodes positive so ended up with an Axillary Node dissection original site ended up being 1.8 cm. Cancer was changed to Stage 2A Grade 3. I am ER and PR + and HER -. Surgery didn't get clear margins so I had another lumpectomy on July 6. Dr. still didn't get clear margines.Went to see another breast surgeon for 2nd opinion who recommended Oncoplasty (basically a lumpectomy with breast reduction) as I was large breasted with dense breasts. Surgery went well but just learned still no clear margins. Will undergo chemo in two weeks and than testing to see if I will need a mastectomy. My Cancer was not felt in any exams. and was not presented as lump or mass just scattered cells.
