It really makes treatment less difficult but mine was miserable the whole time. I couldn't wait to get it out. The port protects you veins from wearing out. In the long run it is a good thing. My girlfriend had hers for 3 years, that I know of, and it never bothered her.

I agree with Sharon. I had some side effects with Arimidex and was just switched to Tamoxifen. Keep your oncologist apprised of any issues you have. Good luck and feel better.
