how does the hormone arimidex stop the cancer from spreading

    Hormone blocker.... if cancer cells linger, they are starved of the thing that makes them multiply.

      I thought it is. It won't keep the cancer from spreading just blocks the Estrogen from producing that caused your cancer to grow originally.

    It basically does what tamoxiphen does. You get one or the other depending on pre or post meany pascal age.
