Thank you for your comment Kim. How big was your tumor and what was the growth rate? I only had a unilateral mastectomy, but because of the size of the tumor and growth rate, they want to do chemo, radiation and hormone treatment.

My tumor was only 14mm and I think the growth rate was 2 as well I also had no lymph node involvement. I chose to have the bi lateral mastectomy for a number of reasons one of which was my own peace of mind. I am pleased not to have had chemo but if I were told that I had to have it that would have been ok as we'll. After my diagnosis I decided the best way for me to attack this was to do whatever the doctors recommended while doing everything I thought I could do. I am now having my tissue expansions done weekly and should have my implant around April. It sounds like your tumor was quite large, what size was it and what was the growth rate? Are you going to have ant sort of reconstruction? Good luck with your treatment, I know it is not going to be easy but we have to do what we have to do, our lives are to important.

Also Dr. is doing a test to see what the chances are of it coming back. I will see her again on the 22nd to see what will happen next. Good luck to you also. There are a lot of good people on this site who have been going through a lot more than I could imagine. My prayers are with you all!

Hey susan, mine is case of stage 2a, 27mm, er/pr positive, her2 negative, no lymph node, had a lumpectomy 2 weeks back, going for the TC chemo regime starting next week, it's hard to leave out the remote chances of it coming back, and m planned radio after the chemo also.
