I have recently found a hard lump on the right breast next to the nipple, with a light brown and dark discharge. Now I had a FULL Hystorectomy at 19 with no children. Does this call for concern?

Any changes noticed in your breast such as a lump, discharge, discoloration, swelling, etc. should always be checked out ASAP. It could be nothing to be concerned with, but you never want to take that chance!!! It doesn't matter how old you are, weather you've had kids, hysterectomy, no family history of cancer, etc. Cancer doesn't discriminate. Get it checked out.

U need to get a diagnostic mammogram and not wait 2 wks. Unfortunately, I've seen too many patients who were told the same thing by a primary doctor. These primary doctors are not specialized in detecting breast cancers and think that because of ur young age you not at risk. Not the case. It's probably not breast cancer..may be a cyst but get it checked by a breast specialist just to be sure.

Don't wait and act immediately!!! I found a lump in December 2011 before christmas. Got diagnosed with Stage 0 DCIS on 6 Jan and had the lump removed on 13 Jan. Prompt actions will save a lot of complications down the track.
