after a mammogram, ultra sound and MRI, when I went for the biopsy they said there was nothing there. Should I get a second opinion?

A dr cannot tell immediately following a biopsy. So unless you are saying that your tests came back negative, then you should be fine. However, if at the time of biopsy they said there was nothing, then get a second opinion and ask for the pathology results.

Are you saying that something suspicious showed up on those three tests, and the doctor who did the biopsy found nothing at all, or did he find something, but it was negative for cancer ? What does your biopsy report say ?

I would get a second opinion, it sounds like a very confusing situation. I would want more tests too.

What type of biopsy were you going to have? I had 2 areas seen on mammo., then had additional imaging and U/S, we biopsied the area seen on U/S first as the doctor put it it would be the easiest on you and cheaper. It came back + but we opted to biopsy the 2nd area stereotactilly and it too was + but a different type. They must have seen something on at least one of your imaging studies or they wouldn't have recommended a biopsy. Yes, I'd seek a 2nd and if need be other opinions as perhaps a biopsy isn't needed afterall.
