My score was an 18 and my onc. said I could get by without chemo. just pills since it was Estrogen+. She plugged some other numbers into a program and it indicated my recurrence rate would drop significantly with chemo. so I opted to add it as I wanted to be aggressive and to live a long time. She did change plans though originally saying I would need 4-6 cycles, 1 every 3 weeks but 2 weeks ago before my 2nd treatment she indicated I can now get by with just the 4. You have to do what you feel is the right thing for you.

Since it didn't get into your lymph nodes you might not need it, especially if you have clear margins.

I didn't have the test. I had to rely on my doctors and their years of practice for advice. After prayer and a long talk with my husband we decided to throw everything at the cancer to insure being cancer free. God Bless your journey

Statistics age and so much goes into this decision. Clear margins. Zero movement beyond the tumor all sound good. As does only one receptor that can be matched with pills. Tough. I didn't have that luxury The stats were strongly in favor of chemo. I'm looking at not just surviving five years. I want a chance at a normal life. My grandmothers are in their nineties. I wish to be that greedy too

Similar. Onco Score 17. Tumor4.8cm. Grade 2 stage 2a. Estrogen . My Oncologist says no chemo. Chemo is a higher risk than recurrence. Hormone therapy for 5-10 years. Note my hospital has maximum positive outcomes rating.

I would follow my doctor's recommendation. If I did not have total trust in the doctor, I would get a second opinion. I am having chemo. It decreases my recurrence rate by 7% points.

I'm waiting for my onco score, but I've pretty much decided against chemo if it comes back low or intermediate. I'm only 32. Had a double mastectomy and am her2- . My cancer was stage 1 no nodes and clear margins. I'm even debating tamoxifen. I'm going to see what the oncotype test says to make final decision, but at this point I'm more afraid of the long term SE's of these drugs than the reoccurrence of cancer. Best of luck to you.

I say do it all. I chose to make sure it was all gone and go for chemo. I was stage 2 grade 3 Er clear nodes 2.5cm oncotype was 25 so it was gray. I just chose chemo to make sure. Good luck! :)

Thank you all so much. According to onco test, chemo would lower my recurrence risk by 11%. Almost the same was Adjuvant Online, which estimated chemo would lower by 12%. My oncologist PA has been 0% helpful, I'm scared of long and short term side effects, and do not have a strong support system in place, so I'm not going to do chemo

My tumor was 2.5 cm. They removed my sentinel node and 2 more all were negative. My oncotypeDX score was 19 I opted no for chemo. I choose just radiation & tamoxifen by doing only these two it brings my recurrence chance at 12% I feel comfortable with that. It is hard to make these choices it was and still is for me. My heart is with you....
