Ruby, We just never know how we are going to heal. You can actually have a plastic surgeon make things look better once you are healed from the surgery. Ask your surgeon when you go back in for a check what can be done. Everybody heals at a different rate, and everybody has different types of tissue. Thankfully, you have had the breast cancer REMOVED and that is the number one important thing. Take care, Sharon

Unless you already have done it, I would contact the surgeon's office and question whether something can be done to close up the wound. Do you have drains placed? It sounds like this was a lumpectomy? I'd be asking because it does not so great for sure. Hang in there Ruby. Take care, Sharon

My friend had some problems healing from staples as well. She also had a reaction from the adhesives in the tape so I agree with you that you need to go back to your doc and ask if there is something more he can do for you, especially if you have an open wound. The last thing you need is an infection. How long ago was the surgery?
