Has anyone had reconstructive surgery but kept their nipples intact?

    I decided not to keep my nipples because i was told there could be possible micro cancer cells left behind.I didn't want to take any chances. Best on the decision making.

    I'm in the middle of reconstructive on both, and I have my left nipple. My right is still underway ! So for I'm pleased. :) I hope my new nipple is pretty when it's finished!

    Oops. Going for tattoos in 3 weeks. I did a double mastectomy. My mind is clear.

    Same as above but just had the nipples reconstructed 2 weeks ago. They are prettier and far more perfect than my old ones. Going for the tattoos in 3

      Did test patches just painted on. Looked at pics of my old ones. Can always change. Medical tattoos are different. All layers are not penetrated. It will fade in time and need touch ups. Also allows you to change color a bit.

    I was able to keep one. The other one had to be removed during surgery. It looks good. I'm happy with my decision. I'll have the other one tattooed to match when I'm ready.
