If you have tubular carcinoma is it important to have genetic testing before you decide on options of lumpectomy or masectomy?

Here is a good explanation of Tubular Carcinoma from Breastcancer.org. The treatment depends if the tumor is only tubular carcinoma or if there is IDC mixed in with the tubular type, which is a possibility. It doesn't mention anything about a genetic component but this is something to discuss with your oncologist as more information is needed from a pathology report. http://www.breastcancer.org/symptoms/types/tubular/
