I saw my Radiation PA a few weeks ago and she mentioned genetic testing and it's been 5 years since my diagnosis. I qualify as I have a cousin who was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer but being my cousin doesn't qualify me. In checking with Medicare because of that they won't pay for it if I choose to do it which I won't for now. She said some recent studies have shown a possible family link with pancreas and breast cancer.

Oh I misunderstood your question. My insurance paid for my braca testing because I found out after the fact that both my grandmothers had bc and my mom had colon cancer.

Hi betti I was having difficulties with signing into appt since I changed my phone. Anyway I did the Braca test and it was paid by insurance only because I had a strong history of Breast cancer which I found out after the fact.

This site must have had problems as for the last 4 months (at least) I haven't been able to write anything. I mean I could comment, hit submit, and nothing would show. The tests she wanted me to have was to see if I am predisposed to cancer since there has been none as near as I can find that have had breast cancer and my ovaries were removed in '96 with my BC found in '13.

My dr had me do the whole genetic thing through some company and my insurance paid for it. It was very expensive! It tested like 15 different things. Luckily mine came back negative.
