Starting radiation theraply tomorrow - they are using the True Beam - has anyone had that - if so - what exactly do they do?

    That's how mine was done. You will be positioned on the table like you were for your SIM appointment, they will use the tattoos they placed to make sure you are lined up properly. You will have your hands above your head grasping onto handles. You just have to lie still while the machine does all the work. They should explain everything to you before starting. The tech will be in an adjacent room but they can watch you and there is an intercom so if you have problems they will also be within earshot.

    Mine was also similar to Betty. It took 10 min each treatment & I had no side effects other than a dark sunburn that went away after treatments ended. I used Aquaphor to keep skin moist
