It all depends on the Surgeon's schedule and perhaps too to get an approval from your insurance company. I know it's hard to wait for these things but they do take some time. Please try to relax some, I understand it's hard but you will be OK.

All I know at this point is the doctor that did the biopsy said that the tumoe.was 2.5cmm and was positive for idc. She only saw one suspicious lymph node on ultrasound which tested positive. She said all the other lymph nodes that she did not test looked normal. The mammogram and ultrasound only showed one mass that was macro lobulated with some internal calcifications and irregular margins. I have an appointment with the surgeon on the 28th and I am terrified that it has spread everywhere and I will be dead. In months. I hope these feelings are all normal.

Take a deep breath and relax. Breast cancer IS NOT a death sentence and just because 1 lymph node was positive doesn't mean it has spread everywhere. You are going to be fine.

I had 2 areas next to each of 2 types of cancer. When I got the pathology report after my mastectomy in addition to those 2 there were 2 other areas of cancer; 1 the same type as 1 we biopsied and an area of a 3rd type of cancer. So I had 4...

I had 2 areas next to each of 2 types of cancer. When I got the pathology report after my mastectomy in addition to those 2 there were 2 other areas of cancer; 1 the same type as 1 we biopsied and an area of a 3rd type of cancer. So I had 4 areas of cancer in my one breast and thankfully the lymph nodes were all negative.

Hi Kathy, I had my biopsy 8/11/16, and my surgery 9/28/16. My surgeon is busy. You don't want a surgeon with time on his hands! Take a deep breath, get some things done around the house and get ready for your treatment. Have lunch with girlfriends. It is scary waiting, but everything will be ok.
Between August and the end of September I did all my Christmas shopping. I am doing great 6 months later.

Hi Kathy I cried a lot too at first but these ladies & faith & family is what got me thru. It took a week to get biopsy results but I knew it was positive. I had low grade & no node involvement so no chemo. You can do this. I Stayed positive & focused on living.

Hi Kathy, I know how you feel. It's terrifying. Did your surgeon do the biopsy? You should hear soon. My surgeon's office even called me on a saturday to let me know the prognosis. The waiting is the worst part. You should call if you don't hear anything. Please let us know, we're all here for you!

Hi Kathy, I know that the waiting is the hardest part and unfortunately, we are added to a doctors schedule that is probably already booked. I was diagnosed on November 18th, 2014, had surgery on December 10 and did not start chemo until January 23, I had one positive lymph node and I was scared to death that cancer had taken over my entire body. I have graduated to 6 month check ups with my doctor as you will eventually too. Try not to let the negative thoughts in and do things that you love that takes your mind off of things, but please know this YOU WILL BE OK! :) Hugs sent your way!!
