Just diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer at 42. Feel absolutely fine except for neck pain. Waiting for biopsy results but scans show most is early. I need some words of encouragement. Trying to stay optimistic but my mind is everywhere.

Breast cancer IS NOT a death sentence. You say most scans show it to be early, to me and I'm not a doctor that sounds great. I know the word "cancer" has people's minds racing but you will be OK.

I'm sorry for your news. Like Betti said, it's NOT a death sentence. Google "Leo with cancer" or "Dena Smith", you should find her easily. She was diagnosed w stage 4 quite a few years ago in her early 30's. Her blog is very inspiring!! She's doing great! I really hope you're doing well given the circumstances, it's very hard to understand why all of this happens. Time helps, in my experience. Lots of prayers to you.

Thank you for the website. She helped me understand everything they are doing a lot better. Now that I have more information from all my docs, feeling a little better. I just have to stay off the internet and away from statistics.

Yes you do, although I know how hard that is. My Aunt was diagnosed 16 years ago. She was told she had 35% survival over 5 years w even worse statistics online. She's 16 years out and living a full, happy life. You're not a statistic. Everyone...

Yes you do, although I know how hard that is. My Aunt was diagnosed 16 years ago. She was told she had 35% survival over 5 years w even worse statistics online. She's 16 years out and living a full, happy life. You're not a statistic. Everyone responds differently. My Aunt took up art therapy and meditation - it helps her ground herself emotionally. Focus on life, not on cancer (trust me, I know this is challenging). Stay positive and know you're definitely not alone.

You will be ok. Constantly remind yourself of that and maintain a positive disposition. Being spiritually connected, reading, praying and remaining faithful while getting treatment helped me tremendously. Praying for your healing and strength.

I was able to stay very positive during my boutique with cancer and it helped my treatment immensely. If you are a religious person, pray for peace of mind. Do not ask why, tell yourself you are a survivor and you can do this. Praying for you.
